The Long Island Ice Tea

The Long Island Ice Tea cocktail is a drink that has been around for a long time and so many people have enjoyed this cocktail. The Long Island Ice Tea mixes a few different liquors and that is what makes this drink a favorite for so many people. I am not exactly a bartender so I was kind of nervous about how the cocktail was going to taste. It turned out to be very good and I enjoyed it a lot. I figured I might be biased because I made it so I asked my cousin to try it and she loved it. The Long Island Ice Tea is very strong. It is not like most cocktails where it is equal parts liquor and juice, this cocktail is majority alcohol. Be careful when drinking this cocktail and pace yourself, but it is worth it because you are guaranteed to find something about The Long Island Ice Tea that you will love.

The Banana Daiquiri

Sushi Samba has to be my new favorite place to go for dinner and drinks. I went there this past weekend with my friends and my boyfriend for a quadruple date and we just had a blast. This restaurant is so much fun and their food, but more importantly their cocktails are to die for. While the boys had their beer, us girls decided to be adventurous and try a few of the speciality cocktails. I had their Banana Daiquiri. Words cannot describe how good this cocktail was. Not only was the cocktail itself so perfect, but after you are done this cocktail you are left with a great aftertaste. The Banana Daiquiri is made with:

one and a half ounce light rum

one tablespoon triple sec

one banana

one and a half ounce lime juice

one teaspoon sugar

one cup crushed ice

one small banana slice or cherry for garnish.

The Banana Daiquiri completely complimented the atmosphere of Sushi Samba. If I am going to drink, my choice is always to have frozen drinks. Daiquiris are my favorite, so naturally I would love the Banana Daiquiri. What is different about this daiquiri is that it is made with bananas, obviously. I have tasted daiquiris made with other kinds of fruits, but never with bananas before. Normally I am not a fan of lime juice, but the way The Banana Daiquiri is made I barely tasted the lime juice. If you have not tried The Banana Daiquiri yet, head over to Sushi Samba or make it yourself at home. Either way make sure you try this daiquiri. It is perfect for the summer time.

The Sex on the Beach

Sex on the Beach.... your first thought is not what I am going to discuss. The Sex on the Beach cocktail has to possibly have the most amazing name in cocktail history. I originally tried this cocktail just because I thought the name was funny, but this cocktail actually turned out to be really good. I was at Bongo's Cuban restaurant and bar in Miami and I tried The Sex on the Beach cocktail there and it was fantastic. They way the presentation of this cocktail was done was so fun. I am a sucker for pretty drinks, and they made the Sex on the Beach cocktail so unbelievably pretty. The Sex on the Beach cocktail is made with:

one and a half ounce of vodka

half an ounce of peach schnapps

two ounces of cranberry juice

two ounces of orange juice

Garnish with two cherries and an orange slice.

All of my friends enjoy a screwdriver, and the Sex on the Beach cocktail is basically an improved screwdriver. Most people do enjoy either a vodka cranberry or vodka orange juice, but this is the best of both worlds. All of my friends have tried this drink at one point or another and you really have not tried cocktails until you have a Sex on the Beach. The combination of the ingredients really combine to make you feel very loose and you start to feel the effects of this cocktail pretty quickly. The Peach Martini

The Peach Martini was one of the first martinis I had ever had when I first turned 21. Peaches are my favorite fruit so I love anything with peaches. I went to the Village Tavern in the Pembroke Gardens shopping center with my mother and we both had The Peach Martini. My mother and I have very different tastes when it comes to alcoholic beverages, so it is rare that we both agree on a cocktail. The Peach Martini is so good that we both had to have more than one at dinner.

The Peach Martini is made with:

one ounce Vodka

one ounce Peach Schnapps

half an ounce Cranberry Juice

Splash Of Orange Juice

strain into martini glass.


The Peach Martini is best served in a chilled martini glass. The difference between The Peach Martini and other martinis is that The Peach Martini tastes better the colder it is. This cocktail tastes as if it is almost frozen, that is how cold it is served at The Village Tavern. The way the Peach Schnapps, cranberry juice, and orange juice combine together really create a wonderful flavor. These drinks are very good separately, but when you combine them they taste fantastic. I encourage everyone to try The Peach Martini. Even if you are not the biggest fan of peaches you will still love this because all the juices mixed together create a taste that is sure to please everyone.

The Bahama Mama

The Bahama Mama cocktail was a drink that I heard of but had never tried. I was at Exit 66 down by Fort Lauderdale beach and my girlfriend had one and I decided to try a taste. This cocktail is definitely a good drink. While the presentation of this drink seems appropriate for people of all ages, it definitely is not. This speciality cocktail is the perfect fruity drink for adults. After all, this happens to be my mother's drink of choice so I think the fact that it is the perfect drink for adults is a great way to describe this cocktail.

The Bahama Mama is made of:

half an ounce rum

half an ounce coconut-flavored rum

half an ounce grenadine syrup

one ounce orange juice

one ounce pineapple juice

one cup crushed ice

Strain into glass.

Having a tropical drink like The Bahama Mama at Exit 66 on the beach was the perfect thing to do on a Saturday morning. Exit 66 is basically a huge pool party on the beach where they offer all kinds of speciality cocktails. This cocktail made me feel like I was on a Caribbean island that is how good this cocktail is. The slices of fruit that are included in this drink really compliment the tropical, fruity taste of the Bahama Mama. If you are a fan of rum then you will definitely love this drink. I am a fan of rum, but I definitely love coconut rum and I believe that most people would enjoy all aspects of this drink. Go out and get yourself a certified adult Bahama Mama.

The Vesper

The Vesper is a very sophisticated and elegant cocktail. I am an avid wine drinker. Out of every alcoholic beverage in the world, wine is my drink of choice. It just makes sense that I would absolutely love The Vesper. The Vesper is made with Kina Lillet Blanc wine and in my opinion that is the best wine out there. I had first tried this cocktail at Louis lounge at the Gansevoort Hotel in South Beach. After trying this drink at Louis, it was obvious to me why I had only seen this drink in South Beach. The Vesper is made with:

three ounces Gordon’s gin

one ounce vodka

half an ounce Kina Lillet Blanc wine

Shake well until ice cold

strain into a champagne goblet.

The Vesper is a wonderful collaboration of three fantastic liquors. The way the gin, vodka, and wine combine make the most fantastic cocktail. Everyone I was with that tried this cocktail was instantly taken with it because it is a taste that everyone will enjoy. This is one of the classiest drinks I have ever had. I believe that anyone that likes either gin, vodka, or wine will definitely enjoy this drink. It has a very unique taste that combines three very strong tastes and The Vesper brings out the best in each of the liquors. I enjoyed this cocktail so much that my cousin is having the bartenders serve it at her wedding. If you enjoy gin, vodka, or wine try this drink and you will definitely be in for a treat.

The Zombie

The Zombie cocktail is probably the most interesting cocktail I have ever had. This is one very strange, very strong drink. Drinking one Zombie is equivalent to drinking three regular alcoholic beverages. I am not sure how popular these drinks are in bars, but my cousin is in bartending school and she wanted to try different recipes and I agreed to be her guinea pig. I felt very weird after this drink. I was not sick or anything like that, but I definitely felt like I had partied the night away. This drink is for the experienced drinkers who like to feel very loose and like to feel like they had a really fun night of partying.

one ounce light rum

half an ounce crème de noyaux

half an ounce triple sec

sweet & sour, OJ

half an ounce 151

The Zombie Cocktail is most likely served in a tall and skinny glass, or in a short and fat glass. I thought maybe I was just a lightweight and I wanted to get a second opinion, so I asked my best friend to try this drink and she felt the same way. She said after one of these she felt tipsy. When trying this drink make sure you are prepared to get intoxicated quicker than you normally would. While this drink may be stronger than others, it is also a better quality drink than others. You can tell from the first sip that the alcohol used in this cocktail is good quality alcohol. Be sure to try this drink at least once in your lifetime because it is an experience everyone is going to want to have.
